Backpacking Latin America 2010

es wurde noch eine lange nacht gestern. im chillout cafe traffen wir auf eine gruppe kanadier und es wurde ein lustig geselliger abend, bis um 21 uhr die bedienung kam und sagte das jetzt geschlossen wird. wie bitte? der laden war voll und es war gerade mal 21 uhr. auf den rueckweg haben wir noch eine gruppe deutscher kennengelernt und sind mit ihnen in ihr guesthouse und hoch die tassen. larsi ist gegen 11 dann in bungalow und ich weiss gar nicht wann ich zurueck war. auf jeden fall sollte es eine sehr kurze nacht werden, denn wir hatten gestern, fuer heut morgen um 6 ein kanu bestellt.
um 5.30 fing also unser tag heute an. nachdem wir uns mit wasser, baguette und tunfisch im supermarkt versorgt hatten sind wir mit dem kanu in den nationalpark gerudert.
dort haben wir erstmal im boot gefruehstueckt. leider war es heut mal wieder grau in grau mit sehr viel regen. aber egal durch das rudern wurde uns eh warm und kalt ist der regen hier ja auch nicht. es hat sich gelohnt - wir hatten alligatoren, schildkroeten, affen, geckos, ein kolibri, eisvoegel und was wohl sehr selten ist- ein fischotter.
zum leidwesen fielen auch 2x spinnen ins boot. die will ja nun wirklich keiner haben..grins
unterwegs wurden die kanaele teilweise sehr flach weshalb wir manchmal feststeckten oder an anderen stellen mussten wir treibholz und baeume beseitigen um irgendwie vorwaerts zu kommen. immer im hinterkopf das man bloss nicht reinfaellt, da wir ja schon alliagtoren gesichtet hatten. auch durften wir die zeit nicht aus den augen verlieren, damit wir auch heil im hellen wieder raus kommen. alles in allen ein super toller trip den wir morgen wiederholen wollen, auch wenn wir voellig durchnaesst nach 7h zurueckgekommen sind. so ich muss in budda cafe :o)

Yesterday we ended up with a group of Canadians whom we met in the chill out café and we had a funny time together but the bar closed at 9pm..Could you imagine? Anyway on our way back we bumped into a group of Germans and went with them to their guesthouse to have some drinks together. Lars went to bed around 11pm and I don’t know when I finally managed to go home but it was a short night because we ordered a canoe for 6am. After buying a proper breakfast in the supermarket (Water, baguette, tuna) we started to canoe through the national park while we had a nice breakfast in our boat. The weather is still mixture of rain and dark clouds painting the heaven in grey colors. It was absolutely worth doing this trip, we’ve seen alligators, turtles, monkeys, geckos, colibris, kingfisher and surprisingly an neotropical (river) otter ! Unfortunately we had to spiders jumping in our boat which made us a kind of panic – just disgusting! Who wants to have them that close..? On our way through the canals, the water level was sometimes very low so we were struggling to come forward with our canoe. We had to remove driftwood and trees but at the same time we just were aware of the water and its environment because as I mentioned before there were alligators probably hiding underwater. In the back of our mind we always checked the time which is necessary to maintain a safe trip back through a jungle of canals. All things considered it was a great trip and we would like to do it again tomorrow. After 7 hours and completely soaked and I just want to go to the Buddha bar and relax…

angekommen!
in frankfurt bei schneefall und -12 ging es los und nach einen 14 h flug bin ich in san jose bei 32 grad gelandet. perfekt!

der flug ging relativ schnell vorbei denn nach dem abendbrot hab ich 2 schlafis geschluckt und 10h durchgeratzt.
im flugzeug hab ich noch ein anderen deutschen packpacker getroffen und nasch der landung haben wir uns dann ein taxi zu einen backpacker guesthouse geteilt. hier warte ich jetzt auf larsi der in ca. 4 h hier sein muesste. solange trink ich ein kaltes bier in der haengematte, denn zimmer sind alle belegt bis auf den dormroom, der aber gerade gesaeubert wird.
wird eh nur fuer eine nacht sein, denn morgen werden wir hier
gleich weiter. bin kein stadtfan und ausserdem hoer ich das meer schon rufen LAAAAARRSSSSS.. ich folge dem ruf..grins

so larsi ist inzwischen auch gut angekommen.
der erste weg fuehrte uns direkt zum busterminal wo wir uns fuer morgen ein ticket nach cahuita besorgt haben.
um 10 geht der bus der ca. 4h braucht, der spass kostet uns 3600 collon= 6 euro
danach sind wir noch kurz in san jose lang geschlendert und mussten fesstellen, dass es nicht sehr einladend ist. immerhin gab es erstmal was zu essen- chicken mit kinkeybohnen und tortila(relativ teuer=4 euro)
jetzt sitzen wir im guesthouse und trinken ein und dann bin ich froh wenn ich bald schlafen kann...

after a 14hour flight i arrived costa rica. i leaved germany at -12 degrees and arrived san jose at 32 degrees. the flight was with help of 2 pills for better sleep, easy. in the airplane i meet ralph and we decided that we shared a taxi to a backpacker guesthouse here in san jose.
the double rooms are all full. but in the dormroom is place. 8 person in one room. but at the moment is cleaning service and check out so i must wait one hour. but no problem, i habe a cold beer and lying in a hamock with my laptop and wifi.
in 4 hours arrived lars san jose and we meet us here in the guesthouse. i think tomorrow we leave the capital of costa rica and search a nice chillout place on the beach.

now is larsi here- we have booked a busticket for tomorrow morning to cahuita. the bus need 4 hours and cost 6 euro.
caribic we will come!
